Warren Byrd

Acquisitions & Business Development Management

Just prior to joining Dealers Auto Auction Group (DAA) full time in July 2025, Warren Byrd consulted with the company for four years, helping DAA acquire three auto auctions as well as to begin to expand and re-locate some of its key auction locations. Prior to consulting with DAA, Byrd served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Real Estate for KAR Global (now OpenLane), a leading automotive remarketing company in North America and around the world.

During his tenure at KAR and its affiliated entities for more than 20 years, Byrd led the acquisition of dozens of large auto auctions across the U.S. and Canada. Many of those auctions were then re-located onto expansive properties in major metropolitan areas ranging in size of up to 200 acres. Byrd also managed the multi-billion-dollar portfolio of over 300 facilities, including hundreds of auctions and 20 corporate offices around the world. He led the real estate effort to develop and build KAR’s highly acclaimed corporate offices in Carmel, Indiana.

In addition to his acquisition and real estate development role, Byrd served on several industry boards and committees. For 20 years, he served as a Board member leading the creation and growth of the industry technology consortium, AutoIMS, and for over ten years, served on the Joint Marketing Committee of the industry database known as AuctionNet and on the Executive Committee of the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA). Byrd also served for three years as President of ServNet, a trade association of some of the largest and most respected independent auto auctions in the industry.

Prior to joining KAR Global subsidiary, ADESA Corporation, Byrd practiced law at the firm now known as Dentons Bingham Greenebaum in Indianapolis. Byrd received his JD Degree from Notre Dame Law School and his undergraduate degree from Cedarville University. Growing up on a farm, Byrd loves to drive anything with a motor. He is an avid runner and cyclist. Byrd is married to his high school sweetheart and has two children and six grandchildren. He is actively engaged in leadership and counseling roles in his church.
